Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence elects new officers
BOARDMAN — The Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence has elected new officers and a new board member.
New officers are:
- President — Lynda Beichner, community volunteer;
- Vice president — Meg Harris, clinical supervisor of Case Management and Trauma Services with Alta Behavioral Healthcare;
- Treasurer — Michael Walston, CPA, principal with Hill, Barth and King;
- Secretary — Annie Sofran, senior marketing partner, Akron Children's Hospital.
Walston was voted in as a new board member and treasurer.
The Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence is a nonprofit organization that awards teacher grants for classroom projects that go beyond the scope of those funded by the school's educational budget.
BSFEE has awarded more than $60,000 since its inception in 2009 and has donated $5,000 to Boardman Schools for 20 WiFi hotspots during the pandemic.
