Stratis continues as Young Democrats president
YOUNGSTOWN — Anthony Stratis has been re-elected president of the Mahoning County Young Democrats.
"To build a Mahoning County to where people come to, not come from," Stratis said of the organization's goals.
"Our organization is about building a new bench of leadership," Stratis said. "There was one message that was clear, status quo is no longer enough."
Also elected were: Shirley Baker, vice president; Angelo Elia, treasurer; and Jordan Pennell, secretary.
While most Mahoning Democrats performed well in Mahoning County, Stratis pointed out there were many shortfalls in the Nov. 3 election.
Stratis said the organization's goal is to bring a new brand of leadership that does not end at the lines of partisanship.
"Mahoning County cares about the bread and butter issues like how do we put food on the table and how do we pay next month's mortgage," Stratis said. "We need to show people that we are the party that fights for everyone.
"It starts with an energetic base of young people who want to build back a better Mahoning County. To make our valley where we come to, not come from."
