YOUNGSTOWN — Penguin City Brewing Co. has released a limited-edition label on its Penguin City Light Beer to commemorate Youngstown State University's mascot, Pete.

The cans are available throughout the Mahoning Valley and western Pennsylvania and at all home football games in Stambaugh Stadium and home basketball games at Beeghly Center.

"We are so happy to continue our partnership with YSU Athletics. One of the first things we did when we started this company was walk right into the YSU Athletics Department and get involved in their fine organization," Aspasia Lyras-Bernacki, co-owner of Penguin City, said in a news release. "It means a lot to us to be able to honor YSU with these limited-edition cans, and it's fun to change the can every year and get people excited about what's next for the season."

The YSU football team kicks off its season against the University of the Incarnate Word at 7 p.m. today at Stambaugh Stadium. For ticket information, click here.

CareSource partners with Akron Children's Hospital

AKRON — Health insurer CareSource is partnering with Akron Children's Hospital in an effort to reduce the overall cost of health care and improve outcomes for children in Northeast Ohio who rely on Medicaid.

"CareSource's history is built on breaking down the barriers of health care to increase access to seamless high-quality, cost-effective care," Steve Ringel, CareSource Ohio market president, said in a news release. "Our partnership with Akron Children's Hospital will continue to support our youngest members and their families in Northeast Ohio."

Starting Oct. 1, Akron Children's and CareSource will launch a collaboration aimed at improving the health of approximately 100,000 Medicaid-covered children currently enrolled in CareSource who reside in 13 counties in Northeast Ohio.

Akron Children's will assume accountability for care management for these children under a new company, the Akron Children's Health Collaborative, a provider-led pediatric Accountable Care Organization. The Akron Children's Health Collaborative was created to improve child health through family-centered care coordination, an engaged network of providers and a unified focus on quality, access and health equity.

"CareSource has successfully partnered with other children's hospitals in Ohio, and Akron Children's believes this model will be a win-win for our patients and providers of care to children in Northeast Ohio as well," Grace Wakulchik, president and CEO of Akron Children's Hospital, said in the release.
