AUSTINTOWN — The Mahoning Valley Corvette Club will have its 26th annual Corvette and Steel Car Show at Greenwood Chevrolet, 4695 Mahoning Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 27.

Registration for cars will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Awards will be presented starting at 2:30 p.m. The show, which benefits Disabled American Veterans, will take place rain or shine.

The Mahoning Valley Corvette Club is a member of the National Council of Corvette Clubs. For show participants, non-NCCC entries are $10, and NCCC entries are $20. There is no fee for spectators.

"It's exciting to start hosting Corvette shows again," Jim Conlin, Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown new car manager, said in a news release. "We're looking forward to having Corvette and Steel Car owners come out to show off their vehicles. It's a great event for owners and enthusiasts alike."

In addition to the vehicles, there will be music from Big Rick DJ Services, food for purchase, gift basket and 50/50 raffles and more.

Doughboy's Pizza and Gyros to celebrate grand opening

WARREN — Doughboy's Pizza and Gyros, 3511 Youngstown Road, is celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The event will include free ice cream, hot dogs and bags of chips for children.

The restaurant blends Greek cuisine with other dining favorites such as burgers and pizza. Creations include the hot Sicilian sub, the Philly steak pizza and the towering inferno burger.

"We strive to provide the best we can possibly do, and we place emphasis on having friendly staff and delicious food," owner Steve Hatzielexiou said.

Doughboy's Gyros and Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 9/10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Funding workshop scheduled for Thursday

YOUNGSTOWN — The Association of Fundraising Professionals Mahoning-Shenango will have a federal and state funding workshop Thursday at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The workshop, "The American Rescue Plan: Navigating Federal and State Funding Opportunities for Nonprofits," will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The speaker will be Kristen Olmi, managing member of KO Consulting LLC, which focuses on community and economic development. She previously was the grants coordinator for the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineering Department.
