WEEKDAY MATTERS | The Wrangler Band to perform at Austintown Township Park

AUSTINTOWN — The Wrangler Band will perform modern country and classic-rock songs Tuesday during the 2021 Summer Concerts in the Park series at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.
The performance begins at 7 p.m.
The remaining summer concert series schedule:

- July 6: Four Lane Highway (Top 40, classic rock and country);
- July 13: Blue Siren (classic rock and modern country);
- July 20: Leanne Binder (classic rock, rhythm and blues);
- July 27: Youngstown Area Community Concert Band;
- Aug. 3: Cin City & The Saints (classic rock);
- Aug.10: Jim Frank Combo (big band, polka and waltzes);
- Aug. 17: Erie Heights Brass Ensemble;
- Aug. 24: Vintage Vinyl (’60s and ’70s music);
- Aug. 31: Blue Siren (classic rock and modern country);
- Sept. 7: Sound Bite (classic rock);
- Sept. 14: Chris Higbee (country);
- Sept. 21: Guys Without Ties (classic rock with horns and more);
- Sept. 28: The Vegas Band (Top 40).
Butch Nichols Band to perform in Canfield
CANFIELD — The Butch Nichols Band will perform during the Canfield Summer Concert Series on the Green at 7 p.m. today.
Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs for seating accommodations.
The remaining summer concert series schedule:
- June 28: Justified;
- July 12: Following June;
- July 19: The Jim Frank Combo;
- July 26: The Bill Bevec Combo;
- Aug. 2: Dixie Land Dandies;
- Aug. 9: Girard Community Band;
- Aug. 16: Canfield Community Band.
JCC offers Dungeons & Dragons, playwright workshops
YOUNGSTOWN — The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering summer workshops beginning Tuesday for children and adults.
Two Dungeons & Dragons workshops begin this week at the center at 505 Gypsy Lane. Dungeons & Dragons for children age 12 and older will be Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. through Aug. 10.
This workshop will cover the basics of Dungeons & Dragons. Participants will receive a set of books and dice to help get them started. Parents are welcome to join.
Dungeons & Dragons for adults will be Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 12. Participants will create a Dungeons & Dragons world of fantasy by overcoming challenges and conquering the game of imagination. Participants can bring their own books and dice or borrow some from the JCC.
The cost for each workshop is $75 for members and $100 for nonmembers. To register, click here.
Also beginning Tuesday is an adult playwright and performance class from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 10.
Participants will write and perform vignette sketches, short and descriptive pieces of writing that capture a brief period in time.
The cost is $120 for JCC members and $150 for nonmembers.
