ODOT plans to upgrade SR 46 in Howland next spring
HOWLAND — The Ohio Department of Transportation is planning to upgrade state Route 46 in Howland Township next spring.
The project proposes to extend the existing southbound right-turn lane on SR 46 at the Hidden Hills Drive intersection for approximately 400 feet to the north.
Additional improvements include traffic signal upgrades to optimize signal phasing and timing, curb replacement, storm water drainage system improvements, driveway apron reconstruction, application of approach pavement markings and new traffic signs.
The $935,000 project is scheduled to begin construction in spring 2021. During project construction, a minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction along SR 46. Construction and lane restriction information will be posted along SR 46 and Hidden Hills Drive and on the ODOT District 4 website, prior to the start of project construction.
Access shall be maintained to all adjacent properties, businesses and intersecting side streets for the duration of the project.
To ensure the decision-making process is comprehensive, ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of this proposed project. Deadline is July 10.
