Virtual manufacturing exhibit showcases industry in the Valley
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor has launched the virtual exhibit "Manufacturing: Past, Present & Future Endeavors in the Mahoning Valley."
The exhibit is a collaboration between the museum, local manufacturers and Youngstown State University's History program and the Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering program.
The virtual exhibit features the Mahoning Valley's history, current endeavors and future opportunities in the manufacturing industry. The exhibit highlights James Ward and Co. (1841-1900), Brown, Bonnell and Co. (1845-2011) and William B. Pollock Co. (1863-1883) as early manufacturers. Vallourec S.A., McDonald Steel Corp. and Rugged 3D are featured as current manufacturers in the area.
Education opportunities at YSU also are showcased through collaboration with the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
