Trumbull County reports 62 new confirmed COVID-19 cases
WARREN — Trumbull County has reported a total of 10,550 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date, which includes 62 new cases reported today, according to Trumbull County Combined Health District.
Of those confirmed cases, about 524 are presumed to be active infections. There were 10 new confirmed cases that came out of congregate living facilities. The county has also reported another 617 probable cases to date.
There have been 210 confirmed and probable cases reported to date in Warren, according to today's release.
The county reported no new COVID-19 deaths today. A total of 280 people have died in the county to date, according to the district.
The county is currently not monitoring any people in quarantine for symptoms of the virus. There are 64 people being quarantined for monitoring in the city of Warren. The county is also not currently monitoring any additional "suspect cases" through the Ohio Disease Reporting System.
A total of 2,730 people in the county have completed quarantine periods and have been released.
A total of 9,746 people in the county are presumed to have recovered from the virus as of Saturday, according to the Ohio Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard. That metric is measured as the number of COVID-19 patients whose symptoms reportedly began more than 21 days ago but who have not died.
The county did not report any new hospitalizations today. A total of 389 people have been hospitalized for COVID-19 in the county to date.
Of the county's total cases to date, 4,796 are male and 5,754 are female. Their ages range from infancy to 102 years old.
Trumbull County remains at level 3 "red" alert status under the Ohio Public Health Advisory System map, as the county meets three of the system's seven risk indicators:
- The county has reported 883 new cases in the last two weeks, which is 446 new cases per 100,000 people — more than four times higher than the CDC's "high incidence" threshold of 100 cases per 100,000 people. Counties meet this indicator if reporting more than 50 cases per 100,000 people over the past two weeks.
- Between 68 percent and 84 percent of the county's new cases in each of the last three weeks were reported outside of group settings such as long-term care or correctional facilities. Counties meet this indicator if weekly non-congregate cases from at least one of the last three weeks was more than 50 percent.
- The county has reported a consecutive, at least five-day increase in the average number of new COVID-19 hospitalizations in the last three weeks. The increase began Dec. 18 at about three average visits, and rose to about 6 average visits on Dec. 24.
Trumbull County today had the 15th-highest number of total cases in the state, as well as the ninth-highest total deaths, according to ODH.
Trumbull County Combined Health District maintains a dedicated hotline to report complaints for violations of pandemic orders or guidelines, including the statewide mask order that took effect July 23. That number is 330-675-7841. The district urges residents not to call 911 for complaints.
