YOUNGSTOWN — This weekend, the Mahoning County Land Bank will have a rummage sale, and Youngstown CityScape will have a mum sale and open house.

The rummage sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the land bank's recently acquired property at Mahoning Avenue and South Portland Avenue.

"We're looking forward to selling the items we've collected while acquiring vacant houses," Debora Flora, executive director of the land bank, said in a news release. "We have quite a selection."

Items for sale will include ladders, sporting goods, bicycles, construction materials, hand tools, houseware and decor. All proceeds will benefit the land bank.

The mum sale and open house is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at CityScape@Briel's, 23 S. Belle Vista Ave., CityScape's recently purchased greenhouse located at the former Briel's Flowers.

"We're delighted to welcome the neighborhood to visit our new greenhouse location," Sharon Letson, director of CityScape, said in the release. "Stop by and pick up some lovely fall mums. We will also have Rocky Ridge maple syrup and Youngstown notecards for sale."

Both sales are part of a partnership between the land bank and CityScape to boost commerce along Mahoning Avenue.

On Friday, the Youngstown City Health District will be on-site at South Portland Avenue during the rummage sale to offer walk-up COVID-19 vaccines to the general public. No appointments are necessary. There also will be a pop-up Little Free Library both days.
