Thomas Maj named new president of Cardinal Mooney High School
YOUNGSTOWN — The Most Rev. George V. Murry, S.J., and the board of Cardinal Mooney High School announced Tuesday that Thomas Maj has been named the next president of the school.
Maj has 30 years of experience as an educator and administrator, including 13 years as a Catholic high school president.
He began his career in education as a high school teacher. He served as an assistant principal, then principal, at Grand Rapids West Catholic High School, Grand Rapids, Mich., before being promoted to President of Grand Rapids Secondary School. He was president of Toledo Central Catholic High School; St. Joseph High School, Victoria, Texas; and Bishop Dunne Catholic School, Dallas, Texas.
"Mr. Maj brings a wealth of experience to Cardinal Mooney High School, including his entrepreneurial approach to leadership that has increased enrollment, built community partnerships and strengthened development needed to continue and build the strong Catholic education tradition of sanctity, scholarship and discipline at Mooney," Murry said in a news release.
