Kellyanne Conway joins Bernie Moreno’s U.S. Senate campaign
CLEVELAND — Kellyanne Conway, who was senior counselor to former President Donald Trump, has joined the campaign of U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno as senior advisor.
Moreno, a Cleveland businessman whose family immigrated to the U.S. from Colombia when he was a child, announced April 6 he'll seek the seat that fellow Republican Rob Portman intends to leave next year.
"Bernie's not a politician. He is a conservative, a political outsider and a successful businessman just like President Donald J. Trump," Conway said in a news release. "Ohioans need a fighter like Bernie Moreno to speak up and stand up for them in Washington."
Conway successfully managed Trump's first presidential campaign.
"I'm thrilled that Kellyanne is joining us in our own fight to defend the gains President Trump has made and to stop the socialist agenda," Moreno said in the release.
