Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office launches new website and social media pages

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office has launched a new website and Facebook and Twitter pages.

"In today's fast-paced society, it is more important than ever that the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office utilize contemporary methods of technology to improve transparency and to timely convey important information to the residents of Mahoning County," Gina DeGenova Zawrotuk, public information officer and chief assistant prosecutor, said in a news release.

Along with the new media platforms, the office also will publish "Justice Journal," a quarterly newsletter containing information on a variety of topics, including achievements of the criminal and civil divisions, notable prosecutions and fraud alerts. Each newsletter also will recognize a local law enforcement officer as the Top Cop for his or her exemplary service. The first edition of "Justice Journal" can be viewed here or on the office's social media pages.

The office also will initiate a Speakers Bureau, where local law enforcement agencies, neighborhood organizations, educational institutions, faith-based groups and clubs or organizations can request a speaker for a meeting or gathering. The service is free and encompasses a range of topics such as bullying, teen sexting, elder fraud, animal abuse and drugs and narcotics.
