YOUNGSTOWN — Penguin City Brewing Company is putting together a Penguin Giveaway to help raise money for Christa Harrison, a 17-year-old shooting victim.

Christa has hospitalized since the shooting and has undergone four surgeries. Her family is trying to raise money to get a wheelchair so she can go home instead of to a rehabilitation facility.

Penguin City Beer is offering up this package worth more than $500:

  • Penguin City growler (and the winner will be invited to the "first look" party to fill it);

The package winner will be chosen from donors of at least $20 to Christa Harrison's GoFund Me account. When Christa's goal is reached, the winner will be announced on Facebook.

Glaciers raise $5,000 for Rescue Mission

YOUNGSTOWN — Glaciers Sports Inc. raised $5,000 to donate to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

Glaciers Sports is a local non-profit organization that is focused on helping young players optimize their baseball development, as well as helping their players understand the importance of lending a hand to those in need.

"We want to make sure our players are given the opportunity to become better baseball players on the field and better citizens off the field," said Anthony Vross, president of Glaciers Sports in a news release "We feel it is important to provide them with ways to give back to their community through volunteerism and fundraising."

Farmers reports earnings from Sept. 30

CANFIELD – Farmers National Banc Corp. reported a net income of $16 million or $0.56 per diluted share for the three and nine months ended Sept. 30. That compares to the $10.9 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2020.

The results for the quarter were positively impacted by a negative provision for credit losses totaling $948,000 pre-tax which was primarily due to a release of reserves for credit losses.

Net income for the nine months ended Sept. 30 totaled $46.1 million, or $1.63 per diluted share, compared to $30.5 million, or $1.07 per diluted share for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2020.

"We are pleased with our ability to post record earnings and find ways to win even as the impact from PPP loans begins to wane," said Kevin J. Helmick, president and CEO, in a news release.

COLUMBUS – J.D. Power has ranked Columbia Gas of Ohio first in its 2021 Gas Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study in the Midwest region.
