Rotary Club of Youngstown donates $1,500 to Dorothy Day House
YOUNGSTOWN — The Rotary Club of Youngstown today (Aug. 19) presented a $1,500 check to the Dorothy Day House of Hospitality for the purchase, preparation and packaging of food for takeout for its clients.
The check was presented to Sister Ann McManamon, Dorothy Day House coordinator.
The Dorothy Day House, 620 Belmont Ave., opened Nov. 22, 2009. According to its website, the organization's hospitality "consists of a hot meal, coffee, a safe place to relax, a shower, and most of all a warm welcome with the offer of friendship and the promise of respect for everyone who walks through our doors."
Dinner is served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and free showers are offered from 2 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays.
