YSU’s Dana School of Music welcomes students for open house
YOUNGSTOWN — Students considering attending Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music are invited to an open house beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bliss Hall.
Students will have the opportunity to meet professors and students; sit in on vocal and instrumental ensemble rehearsals; and attend classes and recitals.
"The open house is one of the highlights of the fall semester," Randall Goldberg, Dana director, said in a news release. "After a one-year hiatus, we are thrilled to welcome aspiring musicians to Bliss Hall to experience life as a music major."
A full day of information and music has been planned to assist students considering a career in music, whether as performers, educators, other industry professionals or those who wish to pursue music studies in a broader career context.
Representatives from YSU's Offices of Admissions, Scholarships and Financial Aid, Sokolov Honors College and University Housing will be present.
Students should bring their instruments with them as there may be time to participate in a variety of ensemble rehearsals.
To register, visit the Dana School of Music's website.
Parking for the event is free and available in the M30 Wick Avenue parking deck when students and parents identify themselves as Dana School of Music open house attendees.
