ODOT schedules resurfacing for Interstate 80

AUSTINTOWN — With summer approaching, the Ohio Department of Transportation has announced several road projects for Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Mahoning County

In Austintown Township, ODOT is planning pavement repairs for Interstate 80 in Austintown Township. ODOT says the ramp from I-80 westbound to state Route 46 will be closed on June 12 at 9 p.m. through June 13 at 6 a.m. The detour will be I-80 westbound to Bailey Road to I-80 eastbound.

Interstate 680 pavement repairs are scheduled next week in Youngstown and Boardman Township. I-680 northbound and southbound between South Avenue and U.S. 224 will have various nightly lane restrictions beginning June 12 and continuing through June 15. These restrictions will occur between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

U.S. 422 pavement repairs are coming in Coitsville Township. U.S. 422 between state Route 616 and the Pennsylvania state line will have various lane restriction beginning Monday (June 8) for pavement repairs. Estimated completion will be late June.

State Route 170 widening and bridge repairs are scheduled in Poland Township. The road between Dobbins and Spitler roads will be reduced to one lane with a portable traffic signal beginning Monday (June 8) for bridge repairs. Estimated completion will be mid-August 2020.

State Routes 170 and 616 will receive resurfacing in Struthers and Poland. State Route 616 just south of Lowellville Road will be closed beginning Monday (June 8) through late June. The detour will be U.S. 224 to I-680 to Shirley Road to Center Street to state Route 289.

Trumbull County

Resurfacing projects are scheduled for state routes 45, 169 and 304 in Warren and Hubbard as well as Champion, Bazetta and Hubbard townships.

Daily lane restrictions will begin Monday (June 8) for:

  • SR 45 from SR 5/82 to Champion Avenue.
  • SR 169 from Rhodes Road to US 422.
  • SR 304 from SR 7 to the Pennsylvania state line.

Estimated completion will be in early August.

A culvert replacement is scheduled for state Route 534 in Braceville Township. The road between state Route 82 and U.S. 422 will be closed from June 15 through June 24. The detour will be state Route 5 to state Route 82 to U.S. 422.

Columbiana County

State Route 11 is being resurfaced from the Columbiana/Mahoning line to just south of the state Route 344 interchange. Traffic is restricted to one 11-foot lane. The project should be completed by Sept. 30.

Several projects are underway for U.S. Route 30 and state Route 7:

  • U.S. 30 slide repair project west of Lisbon: One lane of traffic is maintained via temporary traffic signals. Completion date is Aug. 31, 2020.
  • U.S. 30 (Lincoln Way) traffic signal upgrade project in Lisbon: Project includes signal upgrades at the intersections of U.S. 30 (Lincoln Way) with SR 45/SR 154, Beaver Street, Market Street and Jefferson Street. Completion date is Oct. 31, 2020.
  • SR 7 bridge replacement located east of Columbiana between SR 14 and Metz Road: Traffic maintained via temporary traffic signals. Completion date: June 30, 2021.
