Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre schedules summer events

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre has announced six summer shows beginning June 19 with a Juneteenth Celebration.

The Premier Bank Community Event Series is co-sponsored by Wean Park and JAC Management Group.

The Juneteenth Celebration will be presented by LOUD 102.3, the city of Youngstown and JAC Management Group.

Other shows include:

  • July 9 — The movie "42" starring Chadwick Boseman, part of the Youngstown Summer Movie Series;
  • July 17 — Youngstown Wine and Jazz;
  • July 31 — The Vindys;
  • Aug. 7 — LOUD 102.3 Presents "330 Show Live;"
  • Aug. 13 — Youngstown's Night of Champions sponsored by Pfeiffer, Wolf, Carr, Kane & Conway LLP.

The other shows are free.

Movies will be shown at Wean Park, 201 S. Phelps St., throughout the summer.

The lineup for the movies at 9 p.m. includes:

  • June 21: "Captain Marvel" (2019);
  • June 28: "Coco" (2017);
  • July 5: "Do the Right Thing" (1989);
  • July 12: "Wild Style" 1982 – America's First Hip Hop Motion Picture;
  • July 26: "Moonrise Kingdom" (2012);
  • Aug. 9: "Addams Family Values" (1993);
  • Aug. 16: "Godzilla Vs Kong" (2021).

If there is a rainout, the movie will be shown the following day.

The movie series is sponsored by The City of You, JAC Live, Wean Park and Penguin City Brewing Co.
