Here’s where Mercy mobile mammograms are available in the Valley throughout July

The Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center’s Mobile Mammography Unit is traveling around northeast Ohio throughout July to provide mammography services.

The vehicle uses the same technology and equipment found at the center, and it was the first mobile unit in eastern Ohio to offer 3D mammography, which allows for a more thorough breast examination, a news release states.

The vehicle will make the following stops:

  • 8 to 11:30 a.m. July 5 at Talsman Primary Care, 61 Talsman Drive, Canfield;
  • 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. July 5 at Canfield Primary Care, 3660 Stutz Drive, Canfield;
  • 8 to 11:30 a.m. July 6 at Churchill Primary Care, 4694 Belmont Ave., Youngstown;
  • 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. July 6 at Youngstown Primary Care, 1053 Belmont Ave., Youngstown;

“Talk with your doctor about when you should have a screening mammogram. Screening mammograms are usually a covered benefit with most insurance carriers. Financial assistance for mobile screenings is also available,” the release states.

“Certified radiologists read all mammograms and because a second look can mean a second chance, we double-check all mammograms with a computer-aided detection system that detects more breast cancer than mammography alone. Your physician will receive a copy of the results,” the release states.
