Various local businesses and schools are closed Monday as communities clean up and tackle power outages after the weekend storm.

As of 10 a.m., Monday, according to First Energy, 1,813 homes are without power in Columbiana County, 4,040 homes are without power in Mahoning County and 6,946 homes in Trumbull County.

Crews are being dispatched to fix poles and hopefully restore power for affected neighborhoods.

Power is expected to be restored by Wednesday afternoon at the latest.

Some residents like Brian Collingwood are dealing with uprooted trees and damage to property.

He said five trees in the Poland backyard were uprooted due to high winds, three of which snapped in half.
