Pittsburgh Steelers play April Fool’s Joke with ’signing’ of Snoop Dog as a wide receiver
PITTSBURGH -- Happy April Fools Day! The Pittsburgh Steelers never seem to fail on the joke-loving holiday, and this year, they got us again.
With a quick and simple social media post, the Steelers had everyone - including myself - rushing to read the news. As a journalist who covers the team, seeing a signing of a new wide receiver had me pop up from my couch, trot over to my laptop, click on the link - and laugh.
Go ahead. Click on it. The Steelers got a Dogg.
Don’t get me wrong; there would be no better locker room in football. For a person who still drives down the street with The Doggfather on full blast, and is marrying a teacher who uses Doggyland to educate her students, this would be as good of a signing as it gets.
But, as I do seemingly every year, I’ll keep on dreaming that one day, Snoop Dogg will wake up 30 years younger and ready to toss on the black and gold.
Good one, Steelers media department.
