Youngstown State picks up two new players from transfer portal

Merrimack forward Ziggy Reid appears to be the newest member of the Youngstown State men’s basketball team.

Reid announced his plans on Twitter Monday afternoon.

Reid has played for the last four seasons for Merrimack, where he averaged 14.2 points per game last season.

Reid is 6 feet 6 inches and 235 pounds.

According to the Portal Report, Reid visited Youngstown State Saturday and Sunday. He also visited Towson Statae and UMBC. He was slated to visit Purdue-Fort Wayne and Chattanooga over the next week, but chose Youngstown State.

The Penguins also picked up seven-foot center Imanuel Zorgvol from Northern Kentucky in the transfer portal.

Zorgvol announced his decision via an Instagram post.
