The Cultural Alliance is preparing for the annual downtown festival this summer showcasing local arts, but first, they need more artists.

If you are a photographer, artisan, painter, sculptor, or any other creator, you can sign up to have your work featured in The Summer Festival of the Arts.

The event organizers are looking for artists of all backgrounds, skill levels and mediums to register.

It’s the second year the festival is being held in Wean Park, now organized by The Cultural Alliance.

When is the Summer Festival of the Arts?

The Summer Festival of the Arts starts Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., then again on Sunday, July 9, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

It’s happening at Wean Park at 229 East Front St. in downtown Youngstown.

The event starts Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and then again on Sunday, July 9, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Last year, the festival was held at Youngstown State University.

How do artists sign up?

There’s a $30 registration fee for artists to register for a spot at The Summer Festival of the Arts.

A panel of local artists will evaluate all submissions and choose their favorites based on originality, creativity, craftsmanship, and professionalism. Judging will also consider the expression of a unique vision and style and the mastery over the artist’s chosen medium.

According to Ohio Traveler, if your work is selected, it’ll be featured during the two-day festival attended by almost 15,000 people.

Sign up here by May 1 to be considered for judging.
