A 35-year-old Austintown man was killed when he was thrown from his motorcycle Sunday afternoon.

Officials are investigating what led up to the two-vehicle crash on Mahoning Avenue east of Victoria Road.

According to the Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Justin Bolash traveled westbound on Mahoning Avenue around 2 p.m.

According to reports, a Hyundai Elantra driven by 88-year-old Frederick McNeal was traveling eastbound on the same road.

Reports say McNeal attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. By doing this, he turned into the path of Bolash on the motorcycle.

Bolash braked to avoid the collision and was ejected from the motorcycle, striking McNeal’s vehicle.

Emergency personnel responded and took Bolash to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he died.

McNeal reportedly suffered no injuries from the collision.

Bolash was wearing a helmet during the time of the crash.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officers are investigating.
