Focusing on safety for students on their way to and from school, this year, the Youngstown Police Department implemented the School Zone Traffic Safety Program.

Speed cameras have been installed to take photos and issue citations when drivers go too fast in school zones.

Now the program has expanded to include seven more schools in Youngstown.

Speed camera zones expanded

Starting Tuesday, the following new school speed enforcement zones will be active in the program:

  • Cardinal Mooney High School on Erie Street - Enforcement from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Potential Development on Market Street - Enforcement starts at 7 a.m. and until 6 p.m.
