A chess club will be held at 5 p.m. in Mercer, Pa.
May 6
- Ellen J. Tressel, philanthropist and community leader, will speak at Youngstown State University’s Spring Commencement ceremony, 1 p.m. May 6, in Stambaugh Stadium on campus.
- Any time from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., stop by opening day of the Farmers Market at Austintown Township Park
- Visit the spring open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. happening at John’s Country Nursery in Middlefield
- Compete for the largest catch in the weekend-long crappie fishing tournament at Mahaney Access Boat Ramp in Sharpsville. Registration details are available online.
