How to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in downtown Youngstown
Youngstown will hold its Cinco De Mayo celebration today as part of its First Friday event series centered downtown.
What to know:
It’s to kick off the city’s summer First Friday celebrations, what better way to start than with Cinco de Mayo? Participating restaurants like Gringo’s Tacos have holiday discounts, and there will be games and music throughout the night.
Location and times:
11 a.m. - 12 a.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. for $3 tacos and discount drinks. Live music and dancing starts at 1 p.m. until closing at “Cinco at Gringo’s” all-day celebration. Must be 21 years old and show valid I.D.
4-5 p.m. Cornhole Games – YSU REC at Wean Park
5-6 p.m. Zumba with Stepping Out at Wean Park
6:30-8:30 p.m. “Party on the Lawn” at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre, hosted by JAC Management as part of Premier Bank Community Event Series. Live music performed by RDNA starting at 6:30 p.m.
7-10 p.m. “Phelps Street Party!” hosted by city of Youngstown
Live music on Phelps Street, stage is set up across from Gringo’s. Featuring Loud 102.3 Youngstown host DJ Chip Bank hosting a live broadcast, with guest local artists performing.
