The Youngstown Phantoms hockey team scored the home-ice advantage and has two wins in the upcoming third round of the highly anticipated, best-of-five Clark Cup Finals.

Youngstown will compete for the USHL championship title in game three against the Fargo Force at the Covelli Center this Friday.

What’s at stake at Clark Cup Finals game three?

Kelsey Moreton, senior vice president of the Youngstown Phantoms, said the team is anxious to play game three at Covelli Centre.

“If we win on Friday, we win it all; we win the Clark Cup,” she said. “If we do not, we have to go to a game four we will play on Saturday. The puck drops at 7:05, and tickets will be sold for that game on Saturday at the box office after Friday’s game. Then we’ll be here in the office from nine until the puck drops all day Saturday selling tickets.”

The Phantoms lost to the Fargo Force team in 2018 in the Clark Cup finals, but, Moreton said, this time, Youngstown has the upper hand.

“We lost in 2018 to this team in the Clark Cup finals; however, I think our tables are turning ever so slightly when we come here to play on home ice; we do have the best home-ice record within the USHL,” Moreton said. “So hopefully, fingers crossed, the boys continue to do what they need to and keep that winning streak at home going.”

How much are tickets for Youngstown Phantoms playoff games?

Tickets are only $5. Moreton said they’re selling fast online and at the office.

“Right now, we have probably less than 1,000 tickets to sell before we sell out the entire arena, so this is massive,” Moreton said.

If you can’t make it to the game, coverage is available at Western Reserve Radio and live365.com.

“It’s pretty cool to see a lot of the Youngstown and surrounding cities come out to support this team,” Moreton said. “Tomorrow [Thursday] night, you’ll see the Premier Bank Tower is going to be turned purple, and there’s going to be a sign coming down in the middle of town that says ‘Welcome to ghost town, home of the Clark Cup finals.’”

Moreton recommends getting to the arena when doors open at 6 p.m. so fans are ready for puck drop at 7:05 p.m.

Where can you park for the games?

Paid parking is available at the Cochran Chevrolet Main Parking Lot, next to the Covelli Centre, at 229 East Front St. in Youngstown.

Moreton said fans must follow the guidelines for bringing bags and purses.

Where to find a tailgate party before the game

Phantoms fans can also check out half-price wings and beer specials at the V2 Wine Bar tailgate party on Friday before the game.
