Destiny Denae’ Merriwether Davenport of Youngstown among students awarded degrees from Thiel College

Destiny Denae’ Merriwether Davenport was among the students awarded diplomas during Thiel College’s 149th Commencement Exercises on May 7.

Merriwether, of Youngstown, earned a B.A. and majored in Accounting and Business Administration.

Seventy-nine students graduated with Latin honors, highlighted by 42 students who graduated summa cum laude, which are the highest Latin honors dedicated for students who graduate with a grade point average above 3.8. Sixteen students had a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 to earn magna cum laude, and 21 students were awarded cum laude status with a grade point average of 3.4 to 3.59.
