Youngstown, Columbus writers to speak at next Lit Youngstown reading series event
Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday Readers Series presents fiction writer Arya F. Jenkins of Youngstown and Rose M. Smith of Columbus at 7 p.m. June 7 in the lower level trophy room at the Westside Bowl on Mahoning Avenue.
Alex Harper will co-host the free reading, which will be followed by an open mic.
Meet Arya F. Jenkins
Arya F. Jenkins is a Colombian-American poet and writer whose work has been widely published, has received several nominations for the Pushcart Prize and, in 2021, a nomination for the Best of the Net Anthology.
She is the author of three poetry chapbooks, a short story collection and a novel.
Meet Rose M. Smith
Rose M. Smith’s work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. She is author of four chapbooks, most recently Holes in My Teeth (Kattywompus Press, 2016). Her collection, Unearthing Ida (Glass Lyre Press, 2019), won the 2018 Lyrebird Prize.
She has been a Senior Editor with Pudding Magazine, a Pushcart Prize nominee and a Cave Canem fellow.
