Trustees Chuck George, Anita Hackstedde, Joe Kerola, and Laura Lyden were picked to serve on the Presidential Search Guidance Committee.

“For a vibrant future state, it must no longer be business as usual; we must implement bold and innovative strategies and tactics to distinguish YSU in an increasingly hyper-competitive higher education future state,” said George.

George was appointed vice president of the board and the committee convener.

Here’s a rough outline of their goals:

  • Recommend a search firm to the board next month, with the search commencing in the summer;
  • The guidance committee will consult the board and select candidates to be considered as finalists.
  • “Campus constituencies, as well as a Finalist Consideration Committee composed of multiple constituencies, will provide input on the finalists as determined by the board;
  • The board intends for the designated president to begin in the role no later than fall 2024.”

The next regular board of trustees meeting is June 22.
