Legislation that passed the Florida House on Friday, March 17, 2023, would overhaul the state’s legal landscape, including making it harder to sue insurance companies and limiting the amount of time someone could file a negligence lawsuit from four years to two. It would also significantly change lawsuits against other places accused of providing negligent security. Getty Images

A Detroit man received an indefinite prison sentence for drug possession convictions connected to a May 2022 arrest in Trumbull County.

Robert F. Fuqua, 40, was sentenced to a term of three to four and a half years by Judge Cynthia Rice in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Monday. On May 1, Fuque had pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine after suspected drugs were found May 4, 2022 during a traffic stop by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Fuqua is subject to a two to four year term of post-release control by prison officials after his release from prison.
