Youngstown police plan juvenile curfew sweep this evening
Youngstown police officers will continue their efforts and join with members of the Community Initiative to Reduce Violence to sweep city neighborhoods this evening and enforce the city’s 11 p.m. juvenile curfew.
City officials said in a Wednesday press conference that the summer effort will continue what they’ve done in the past.
The Wednesday night curfew sweep is announced, but city officials said there will be other unannounced sweeps through the summer.
Youngstown Law Director Jeff Limbian said the first offense is a ticket, but additional offenses can lead to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
City officials said the curfew could be expanded in the future.
