Check out Canfield Fair Park Bike Track opening this fall

The City of Canfield’s Park, Recreation and Cemetery Board shared an exciting addition coming to the Canfield Fair Park.

Lex Calder, parks board member since 2020, posted an aerial view of plans for an elaborate asphalt bike track expected to be completed at the park by fall.

“These kinds of parks are popping up all over America, many in Ohio and Pennsylvania as of late,” said Calder. “I can’t wait to see the first kid go around, smiling ear to ear.”

What are the features of the new Canfield bike track?

The bike track will be an addition to the park located near Oak Street and Fair Street in Canfield.

According to Calder, it’s a circuit pump track which allows riders to use momentum to ride around the course. There’s a zig-zag bridge and two beam turns at each straightaway.

More advanced bike riders can practice tricks and ride up a 180-degree wall as part of the bike track.

American Ramp Company is handling design and construction for the project, according to Calder.

“Alec Belden has represented the company superbly, listening to my ideas and making it into a great first step in supporting and growing the biking community locally,” Calder said. “Many thanks to my fellow members of the Canfield Board of Parks and Recreation, city council members, acting city manager, police chief Charles Colucci, Mayor Don Dragish, Patty Bernat and Christine Clayton. Without their support and guidance, this would never have happened.”
