The inaugural Mill Creek MetroParks Junior Open was held recently at the Mill Creek Golf Course and many area golfers from the greater Mahoning Valley earned high placements in the tourney.

Winning the girls’ age 10-12 division was Olivia Kempe and Payton Papuga of Boardman with a 46.

The girls’ age 13-15 champs were Natalie Sawicki and Grace Carrier of Canfield with a score of 75.

The girls’ age 16-19 champions were Shaylee Muckleroy and Matilyn Zines of Damascus with a score of 64.

In the boys’ division, the age 8-9 champs were Barden Rutherford (Hudson) and Preston Tolnar (Canfield) with a 33.

The boys’ age 10-12 champions included Peyton McCune and Luke Conroy of Canfield with a 37.

The age 13-15 boys’ champs were Chase Zelesnak (Columbiana) and Luke DeJoseph (Poland) with a 76.

The age 16-19 champions were Garrett Dillon and Zoe Mort of Alliance with a 64.
