Youngstown State wide receiver Bryce Oliver headlines Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference team

Youngstown State’s multi-talented senior receiver Bryce Oliver headlines a number of Penguins named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference football team.

Oliver was named to the first team of Steele’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference squad as well as a third-team selection on Steele’s Preseason All-America team.

Oliver is a key returning member for a Youngstown State squad which finished 7-4 last season and is expected to be one of the country’s top postseason challengers this autumn. He was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection last season and posted some of the top receiving numbers in the country.

Other Youngstown State Penguins on Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference team

Joining Oliver on Steele’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference first team is Penguin defensive lineman Dylan Wudke.

Penguins accorded second-team accolades on the preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference squad were offensive linemen Jaison Williams and long snapper Sam Merryman.

Youngstown State fullback Jake Benio, offensive lineman Aidan Parker, defensive lineman Chris Fitzgerald and defensive back Quincy Lenton were named to the third team.

Those accorded fourth-team preseason honors were YSU wideout Max Tomczak, linebacker Greg Benton and defensive back Jordan Trowers.

South Dakota State led Steele’s Preseason Missouri Valley Conference squad with 14 first-team selections and North Dakota State had nine-first team picks.
