Marching Pride showcase kicks off 2023 football season at YSU

Youngstown State University football fans can get excited at this special event previewing college football season on campus.

Students at YSU come together from different majors to form the YSU Marching Pride.

Dana School of Music students and all other majors form the ensemble. It doesn’t matter what major you’re studying or how skilled you are at your instrument; students join to play instruments, learn new music, play on the drumline, twirl flags in harmony and learn how to become a Penguinette.

Fans can meet YSU’s Marching Pride ensemble at 4 p.m. Aug. 25 in Stambaugh Stadium.

The event is free and open to the public.

Meet the Marching Pride

The Marching Pride will perform the YSU Fight Song as well as music from their pregame and halftime shows.

Members of the Penguinettes and Marching Pride Color Guard will also perform their routines.

Paid parking is available in the M-81 surface parking lot across from the Watson and Tressel Training Site on Service Road.

Head to the west stands of Stambaugh Stadium to watch the show.
