Girard woman pleads guilty to her sixth OVI charge within the last 15 years
The following action was taken Monday before Judge Cynthia Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:
- Suzanne Ginty, 55, of Shannon Road, Girard, pleaded guilty to her sixth OVI charge within the last 15 years. Ginty’s vehicle was stopped on Sept. 6, 2022, by Liberty Township police, and she was found to have a 0.36 blood alcohol content, according to prosecutors. She faces mandatory incarceration and has to forfeit her 2007 Buick which she was driving during the traffic stop. Ginty will be sentenced following a background investigation conducted by probation officers. She was earlier convicted on OVI charges on March 7, 2018, in Girard Municipal Court, twice on Nov. 11, 2014 in Girard court, on April 7, 2011 in Struthers Municipal Court and on Oct. 4, 2007 in Mahoning County court in Austintown.
- Steven Heckman, 23, of Elmhill Drive NW, Warren, pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal conveyance of drugs and aggravated possession of drugs. Heckman was picked up on a warrant for a secret indictment over the weekend and appeared in court Monday for arraignment. The case dates back to Feb. 1, 2021, incident investigated by the Trumbull County Sheriff’s office. He is being held pending the posting of a $5,000 bond. His next pre-trial is set for Sept. 12.
- David C. Johnson, 38, of Green Acres Drive, Liberty Township, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs (f4) and three counts of aggravated possession of drugs. Johnson was picked up by authorities on a warrant for the secret indictment connected to the March 3, 2023, case. Johnson’s next court appearance was set for Aug. 28 and he was released via pre-trial release services where he must appear for regular drug tests.
