Volunteers needed to provide free health care services at Butler, Pa. clinic
Volunteers are needed for an upcoming Remote Area Medical (RAM) healthcare clinic serving Butler, Pa. and surrounding communities in the Mahoning Valley.
They’re looking to recruit volunteer medical, dental and vision professionals as well as general support staff for the next pop-up clinic.
What is RAM?
RAM organizes several pop-up healthcare events throughout the year across the United States.
Volunteer medical professionals can provide free medical, dental and vision care on a first-come, first-serve basis.
All RAM services are free, and no I.D. or proof of insurance is required.
When is the clinic?
The clinic takes place Nov. 11 and 12 at Butler Intermediate High School, located at 551 Fairground Hill Road in Butler, Pa.
Volunteers are needed to help set up tents Nov. 10 and take everything down on Nov. 12.
According to RAM, you don’t have to be in the medical field to volunteer as a member of the general support staff at RAM.
They’re looking for interpreters to guide multilingual patients through the process, as well as overnight parking volunteers to greet patients.
Services available for no cost at the clinic include:
- dental cleanings
- dental fillings
- dental extractions
- dental X-rays
- eye exams
- eye health screenings
- eyeglass prescriptions
- eyeglasses made on-site
- women’s health exams
- general medical exams
If you or your organization want to volunteer to help provide these free healthcare services to the community, visit the RAM website or call (865) 579-1530.
The pop-up clinic was organized in collaboration with Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
