Paranormal Cirque’s ‘spine-tingling’ show comes to Youngstown this week

Southern Park Mall is hosting an unique show this week featuring first-class circus artists and scary creatures under a big tent.

Paranormal Cirque III will be performing multiple shows there starting this Thursday through the rest of the weekend.

Combining classic acrobatics with cryptids and zombies

“We’re excited to bring this unique and thrilling show to Youngstown,” said Luisa Nealon, Cirque Italia’s marketing and public relations manager. “We’ve assembled an incredible cast of performers, and we can’t wait to showcase their talents to our audiences.”

Horror aficionados will enjoy the thrills of Paranormal Cirque, a combination of acrobatics, contortionists and aerial acts with vampires, zombies and cryptids.

“This show is perfect for anyone looking for a night of entertainment and scares,” said Nealon.

The terrifying big top tent will be set up in the Grove City Premium Outlets parking lot at 7401 Market St. in Youngstown.

The show is put on by approximately 50 performers and crew members from all around the world, according to Roxana Midi, an aerialist performer with Paranormal Cirque.

“We have performers from all over the world like Brazil, we have Argentina, Mexico, we got Romanian, we have Colombian and much more,” said Midi.

Midi said the two-hour show is not “an ordinary type of circus with elephants and tigers,” but more like a theatrical cabaret experience performed by the cast dressed as classic horror cryptids like vampires, ghouls and zombie.

Take a walk through the Paranormal Cirque maze to get scared before the show starts.

“It’s a perfect date night, or a night out with friends,” she said. “People should check out Paranormal Cirque because it’s something that you don’t see every day. We are all very intrigued by Halloween and by the underground world, by the unknown; we’ll keep your curiosity all the way up high and of course your adrenaline will be up.”

Shows start Thursday throughout the weekend

Thursday: 7:30 p.m.

Friday: 7:30 p.m.

Saturday: 6:30, 9:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Sunday: 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.

How to get tickets

Anyone under 18 will need an accompanying parent or guardian to get in due to some adult language and material. Kids under the age of 13 aren’t allowed in.

Paranormal Cirque is offering a special promotion of $5 off any full-priced ticket purchased in levels one, two or three.

Paranormal Cirque is the newest of five shows touring with Cirque Italia, which was created in 2012.
