Newton Falls man pleads guilty to sex crimes against children, faces 40-60 years
Steven J. Billock, 39, Grant Street, Newton Falls, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to a 31-count indictment dealing with sex offenses involving crimes against children.
Billock pleaded guilty to one count rape that carries a life sentence, one count of attempted rape, two counts of pandering sexually oriented material, three counts of gross sexual imposition, 21 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and three counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving minors.
The rape victim in the case was an 8-year-old boy, prosecutors stated.
The case involved an internet-based child pornography investigation that turned up videos made at a Newton Falls home. The child in that home was taken to Trumbull County Children Services.
What sentence does Steven J. Billock face?
Billock faces a minimum of 40 years to life and a maximum sentence of 60 years to life.
He would be labeled a Tier 3 sexual offender which requires lifetime registration.
As part of plea deal, the sexually violent predator specification was dropped.
He will be sentenced after undergoing a background investigation conducted by probation officers.
