It’s time to vote for Mahoning Valley football Athlete of the Week for September 18

The Mahoning Valley had another big weekend of play in the fifth week of the season.

This week players are nominated from Austintown Fitch, Cardinal Mooney, Western Reserve, Ursuline, South Range and Niles.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon on Friday, September 22, at mahoningmatters.com.

  • Dan Evans III: Caught eight passes for 81 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing touchdown to lead Fitch to a 41-0 win over Stow.
  • Ashton O’Brien: Completed all 11 of his pass attempts for 175 passing yards and four touchdowns to lead Cardinal Mooney to a 42-0 win over Lutheran East.
  • Luke Henning: Threw two touchdown passes and intercepted two passes to lead Western Reserve past Lowellville, 21-14.
  • Jack Ericson: Completed 17-for-21 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns and added two rushing touchdowns to lead Ursuline past Harding, 56-20.
  • Blake Ewert: scored three first-half touchdowns to lead South Range past Struthers, 37-33.
  • Autuan Gardner: Rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries in addition to a 38-yard passing score to lead Niles past Lakeview, 31-0.
