The calendar tells us fall has arrived.
And with that turn of the calendar come all the hallmarks of the fall season.
These include football, Halloween, pumpkin everything, changing of the leaves and (eventually) cooler temperatures.
Coffee drinking is a year-round sport, but fall is a special season for coffee shops.
Fall is an excellent time to look for something warm and tasty to drink in a cozy spot. A cup of coffee can genuinely make or break your day.
Some may like chain locations like Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts and Tim Hortons.

But Mahoning Matters wants to highlight top local businesses brewing the perfect cup of coffee and serving cappuccinos with extra care and finesse in this poll.
We want you to vote for your favorite coffee shop in the area from 14 places the newspaper’s staff selected in the poll below. We aimed for locally owned businesses or small chains for this poll.
This poll is not a comprehensive list of every establishment in the Mahoning Valley that sells coffee.
It is simply a sampling of some of the many coffee shops in the area. You have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, to vote in the poll below. So vote early and vote often and remember to bring your tastebuds.
