A Canfield woman is moving up the Fortune 400 list of richest Americans
A Canfield woman and her family are climbing up Fortune 400’s list of the richest people in the U.S.
The publication’s annual list says Denise York, 72, whose family owns 90% of the San Francisco 49ers, now is worth $5.8 billion.
In 2022, she was worth $4 billion.
York’s father, Edward Debartolo Sr., bought the 49ers for $13 million in 1977. The team is now worth $5.2 billion.
Denise and her husband, John, a pathologist who founded DeYor Laboratories in Youngstown before he sold the company to Corning.
They have four children. Her son Jed is the current CEO of the 49ers.
The only other Ohio name on the Fortune 400 list, Les Wexner, is worth $6 billion. He lives near Columbus in New Albany.
