The emotional third episode of the “Golden Bachelor” aired Thursday night with Gerry Turner and his ladies all looking for love.

Show off your talents

The episode went straight into a group date with all women performing in a talent show. The winner of the show would get a special date night with Gerry.

The women were funny, sweet and way beyond talented. From karate to standup comedy, these women knew exactly how to entertain and get Gerry’s heart thumping.

April Kirkwood, a 65 year-old Youngstown native, showed Gerry her wild side with a Beatnik performance.

“Hit it,” she told the musicians. “All women, get your asses up.”

Behind the scenes, the women were empowered, impressed with each other and impressed with themselves.

“I realized we have skills. When I walked on that stage, those skills were alive and well, and so was I. I’m proud of it,”April told the cameras.

At the end of the talent show, the winner was revealed.

Joan won the talent show and the one-on-one date with the “Golden Bachelor.”

April’s hidden talents

Although April didn’t win the talent show, it seems as though she has a past of great talents and great friends.

A long-time friend of April reached out to share some insight on her life before the show.

“I’ve known April since we were young teens at Liberty High School and our daughters grew up together,” said Steven Shagrin. “She’s still such a dear friend, and I’m so happy for her to be in the limelight.”

Shagrin shared a few yearbook photos from Liberty High School in 1974 when Kirkwood was only 16 years-old.

Throwback! Looks like Kirkwood has some hidden talents.

Rose Ceremony time

Drama alert.

At the cocktail party before the rose ceremony, the women started to feel the heat from Theresa’s constant comments about her connection with Gerry Turner.

So, our very own April spoke up.

“If there is an intimate moment with somebody, I think the only way to handle that is with dignity and respect for him and you,” April told her. “Keep your mouth shut.”

Theresa and April then have a side conversation where things were hashed out in a friendly way.

Then comes time for the “Golden Bachelor” to hand out roses.

There was tension in the air at the rose ceremony and Kirkwood even admitted how “stressful” the ceremony was to the cameras.

But she got a rose anyway. You go girl.

Onto week four.
