Week 10 offers great matchups

In rivalry week of the high school football season as teams gear up for their final regular-season games and there are some great ones on tap.

Possibly the best rivalry battle will be in Poland where the 8-1 Bulldogs will host rival Struthers (7-2) in a big Northeast 8 battle. These are two teams which will be high-quality playoff teams come Week 11 and this is a matchup that could go either way. Mistakes could decide the outcome.

Another great Week 10 matchup will be in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference where Springfield (7-2) will travel to Lowellville to face the 8-1 Rockets. Springfield has already secured a piece of the MVAC crown, but Lowellville could claim a piece of it with a win.

Other Week 10 rivalry games will have West Branch (8-1), which is averaging an area-best 45.5 points-per-game, traveling to Sebo Stadium to play the arch-rival Salem Quakers (1-8).

An interesting big-school Week 10 game will see Austintown Fitch (5-3) traveling to Warren Harding (4-5) to play the Raiders.

West Branch picks up Chaney in football
