Youngstown police say they’ve identified man wanted in shooting

Youngstown police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery and shooting in the 200-block of Gaither Ave.

According to reports, police have identified a suspect, Benjamin White who is accused of robbing a white male, 42, of an undermined amount of cash and shooting him once before fleeing.

The victim and a woman who was present reportedly called police, who investigated with the Detective Division and Crime Scene Unit.

Police said the victim identified and he is wanted on Felonious Assault and Aggravated Robbery charges.

Reports indicated the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
