MICHAEL BRAUN: Remove my name from alumni chapter, marketing materials after YSU decision
To the YSU Foundation,
I have thought deeply about this decision and I see no other option other than to withdraw from duties as a co-organizer of the Naples-Fort Myers YSU Alumni Chapter.
I am a 1977 graduate of YSU, was editor of the 1976-77 Jambar, worked at the YSU Bookstore for three of my four years and was a member of the Academic Senate and Kilcawley Center Program Board.
My mother was a 1974 YSU graduate and my stepfather, Dr. John R. Anton, was a popular professor in the YSU geography department in the late 1960s and through the 1970s and 1980s. Undoubtedly, they would be unhappy and displeased with the current situation.
It pains me no end to have to withdraw due to the recent selection of a new and highly unqualified YSU president and the process involved in that selection.
I also wish to have YSU remove my name and accomplishments from university marketing and recruiting materials.
All of this will remain in place until the university reverses its decision and I will be more than happy to and willing to return if and when the university board of trustees comes to its senses.
