Sheriann Odem, 25, of Youngstown, received an indefinite prison sentence of two to three years Tuesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan of the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty to charges linked to a Liberty police officer being punched in the face.

Odem in October pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree felonious assault and fifth-degree felony vandalism. The case involved a shoplifting complaint Nov. 21, 2022, at the Walmart in Liberty Plaza.

A woman, identified as Odem, led police on a foot chase through the parking lot and then she threatened police.

The woman then began kicking and punching and banging her head against a wall after officers told her she would be charged with a felony.

At one point, an officer received a bloody nose after being punched, reports stated.

The report stated the shoplifting at Walmart involved about $1,300 in merchandise.
