Newton Falls woman faces felony charge after accusation of stabbing spouse
A 51-year-old Newton Falls area man was stabbed in the abdomen with a kitchen knife after he and his wife were arguing over the dogs peeing in the house, according to reports.
The report was taken shortly before 10 p.m. on Dec. 10.
The woman, 59-year-old Lori Ann Hippely of 3889 Warren Ravenna Road, was charged with felonious assault. The man was transported to UH Portage Hospital in Ravenna for a laceration to the right side of his abdomen, the report stated. No updated report of his medical condition was given in the report.
Lori Hippely was still in custody without bond in Trumbull County jail pending arraignment in Newton Falls Municipal Court.
The report stated the couple had been arguing about the dogs being in the house and at one point the couple was grappling over the man’s coat and the man had threatened the woman with a dirty mop, the report stated. When the man pushed the mop into the woman, the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and held it out and the man lost his balance and fell into the knife, the report stated.
The man, identified as John Hippely, faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence threats.
