4 ways to celebrate locally for New Year’s Eve in Mahoning Valley

‘Noon’ Year’s Eve at the Jewish Community Center
There’s an early countdown to the new year at noon for kids who can’t stay up until midnight.
Check out the “Noon” Year’s Eve family skate party at 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown’s winter campus, located at 505 Gypsy Lane.
The event is free for JCC members and $5 for non members; visit the JCC website to register by Dec. 28.
Take a lap on the synthetic ice rink, sip hot chocolate and ring in the new year with the JCC.
225 years of Warren
Celebrate the 225th birthday of Warren from 6 - 9 p.m. starting at courthouse square, organized by the Rotary Club of Warren.
There will be activities for kids, food trucks, fire pits and free parking for guests at this family-friendly event.
Magicians, musicians, comedians and singers will be performing throughout the night, including the Speed Limit Band and DJ Tom Angelo. There’s an opening dancing light show at 6 p.m. at courthouse square, followed by more entertainment throughout downtown Warren starting at 6:15 p.m.
Wristbands will be required in order to enter any of the venues and must be picked up at the Log Cabin directly across from the Courthouse Square Fountain. Wristbands are $10 each and $5 for kids under 10; kids under the age of three get in for free.

Youngstown New Year’s Eve fireworks
For New Year’s Eve, the City of Youngstown scheduled a fireworks display at midnight.
The fireworks will be launched from the Market Street Bridge at midnight.
There’s free parking at the Covelli Centre downtown.
Grab a bite to eat from one of the restaurants and bars downtown, and stick around until midnight to watch fireworks over Youngstown.
Country at The Boot
Ring in the New Year with live music, line dancing, drinks and at Country at The Boot in Brookfield Township.
Country music singer and fiddler Chris Higbee will perform at 8 p.m., Sunday, joined by special guests Random Strangers, a high-energy country band.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at Country at The Boot/Yankee Lake Ballroom, located at 1814 OH-7 in Brookfield Township.
Tickets are $25; guests have to be 18 or older to attend. You can get tickets online or with cash at the Sunrise Inn of Warren and at the door before the event.
